Kwahu East District is ready to reopen schools-Education Director
Director of Education for the Kwahu East district in the Eastern region Mrs. Ivy Asantewaa Owusu has assured, the district is well prepared to reopen their various schools for academic work to begin.
Senior High School final year and gold track second year students including form three Junior High School students are expected to reopen on 22nd and 29th June, 2020 respectively.
The director has promised parents and guardians to trust the district because all the necessary measures have been put in place before the reopen date.
In an interview on Obuoba Fm’s Morning Show, Mrs. Owusu who gave surety to parents of a serene environment deprived of COVID-19 told Host Nana Darkwa that all is set.
“The necessary things are in place like veronica buckets, thermometer guns, hand sanitizers and nose masks. The education directorate is working hand in hand with the health directorate by mapping all the schools in the district to the nearest health facilities to serve as emergency point for the students, health workers are also designated to train teachers on the use of the thermometer guns and how to approach suspected patients” she said.
Parents will not be allowed to visit their wards to avoid the spread of the virus in the various schools. The education director said necessary monitoring will be conducted periodically to observe the students.
Students are expected to spend about ten weeks to revise their books and complete their exams. Social distancing will be observed in the various class rooms with the prescribed two meters interval.
