Fear COVID-19 and spare your life as community spread takes over-Biomedical Scientist warns
The Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Association of Biomedical Scientists Dr Dennis Adu Gyasi has stated that, Ghanaians should fear the corona virus pandemic in order to save their dear lives and that of others. The virus which is fast spreading in the country has become a great worry to health workers and government.
Dr Gyasi said Ghanaians should fear the virus and obey all the safety protocols outlined by the government, which include hand washing, social distancing, wearing of nose masks and use of alcohol based hand sanitizers.
Speaking on Delight Fm’s Morning Show “Me Man Nti” the biomedical scientist who is optimistic the virus will go soon if we observe the safety protocols told Host Wofa Agyenim Boateng that, Ghanaians should not fear going to hospital when they are sick.
“We should bear in mind that fearing the virus is a good thing because it will make us observe the safety protocols but we should not fear the virus and abstain from attending hospital when we are sick because it will be dangerous to our health” he said.
When quizzed if all test results from the COVID test team are true he said, the results are about 95 percent accurate so Ghanaians should accept all test results of the disease in good faith.
Biomedical Scientists have been calling on the government of Ghana to boost the rate of testing to help curb the spread of the virus.
